Our client is a vertically integrated developer and main contractor with an ambitious pipeline of residential, commercial, and retirement living projects. They manage projects end-to-end, from land acquisition and feasibility through to design, construction, and delivery. To strengthen their in-house capability, they are seeking a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with a structural focus to join their professional services team.
This role puts structural engineering front and centre while also offering exposure to civil requirements that naturally sit alongside the developments. You’ll apply your structural expertise across building design and delivery, while also contributing to the practical engineering of infrastructure and services that support each project.
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide structural engineering expertise across residential and commercial building projects, from early design through to completion
- Support feasibility studies and advise on design options that balance compliance, cost, and constructability
- Contribute to civil elements such as services and site infrastructure, building a broader understanding of development requirements
- Collaborate with architects, planners and construction teams to deliver integrated project solutions
- Offer technical oversight during construction, working closely with site teams to resolve issues as they arise
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) - structural discipline
- 5+ years’ structural engineering experience, with some capability across civil design and development requirements highly regarded
- Strong understanding of New Zealand building codes, standards, and compliance requirements
- Practical mindset with the ability to consider the commercial implications of engineering decisions
- Confidence working in a fast-paced environment and engaging directly with leadership, consultants, and contractors
