About the Company

About the Role
Looking for an experienced Site Manager based in Hamilton, with strong horizontal infrastructure construction experience to take the reins on technical builds ranging from $5M to $30M. This is a full-time, permanent role that offers serious scope - you’ll take full ownership of site delivery, from managing subcontractors and driving H&S to ensuring quality and program targets are met.

You’ll typically be managing one large project at a time, working closely with the delivery team to ensure everything runs smoothly on the ground. Travel is a key part of the role — projects are based across NZ, and you’ll be away on-site for significant periods (accommodation, travel, and meals all covered).

You won’t be stuck behind a desk or micromanaged. This is a hands-on, high-trust role where you’ll be empowered to get the job done your way, with the support of a close-knit and capable team behind you.

What you’ll get to manage
  • Site delivery of major infrastructure builds across NZ
  • Coordination of subcontractors, suppliers, and technical works
  • Site-based H&S, QA, and environmental management
  • Construction programming, variations, and reporting
  • End-to-end delivery of projects from site establishment to commissioning
Key responsibilities include
  • Understanding and interpreting project designs and construction requirements
  • Leading daily site operations, toolbox talks, and pre-starts
  • Managing site progress and cost forecasting with support from the PM team
  • Ensuring H&S compliance, incident reporting, and documentation
  • Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Participating in project reviews and lessons-learned sessions
What’s in it for You
  • Great Salary + vehicle, phone, PPE, and all travel covered
  • Stable pipeline of national projects – one major project at a time
  • Opportunities for growth in a respected and growing business
  • Supportive, down-to-earth team that works closely across functions
  • Full autonomy with a real mix of challenge and variety
About You
You’re a natural leader with a strong background in infrastructure site delivery. You know how to juggle the big picture while keeping a close eye on the day-to-day detail.
  • 8+ years’ site management experience in civil or infrastructure projects
  • Strong technical knowledge across civil and mechanical build environments
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel and work away from home
  • Comfortable overseeing major site works and coordinating teams independently
  • Experience in water/wastewater treatment projects would be a bonus
This is a role for someone who enjoys being on the ground, in control, and trusted to get the job done.
