This is a key hire as the business continues to shift from a high density residential base into a broader mix of light commercial and mixed use work. The focus is on improving consistency, capability and capacity across tendering, rather than creating a heavily layered or corporate structure.
The role
You will take ownership of tenders from start to finish, working across both negotiated and open tender work. The role is firmly pre construction focused, with an emphasis on building a clear, practical and commercially sound price that supports delivery.
You will be responsible for:
- Running tenders end to end from enquiry through to submission
- Engaging subcontractors and building trade packages
- Reviewing design information and identifying gaps or risks
- Pricing based on methodology, programme and buildability
- Supporting early stage project decisions where required
- Working closely with internal teams to ensure alignment between estimating and delivery
The work is a mix of:
- High density residential developments
- Light commercial projects including retail, warehouse and mixed use
- Design and build projects with early contractor involvement
You will likely come from a main contractor background and have experience in estimating or quantity surveying across residential or commercial projects.
More importantly, you will:
- Be passionat about Estimating
- Be able to take ownership of tenders and work independently
- Have a practical approach to estimating and understand how projects are built
- Be comfortable working through incomplete information and making decisions
- Communicate well with subcontractors and internal teams
- Be comfortable in a hands on, team based environment
