The business continues to grow sustainably, with a robust forward pipeline across education, healthcare, commercial developments, and negotiated ECI design-build projects. They’re now looking for a Senior Estimator to step into a key role within their pre-construction and procurement team.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing and pricing tenders for mid- to large-scale commercial builds, leading the estimating process from documentation through to submission. You’ll measure and quantify works, coordinate subcontractor pricing, and work closely with procurement, QS, and project teams to deliver accurate and competitive bids.
Day-to-day you’ll:
- Manage end-to-end tender preparation, from documentation through to final submission
- Measure and quantify construction works, applying NZS 4204 or equivalent measuring standards
- Coordinate subcontractor pricing and queries, ensuring accurate and timely responses
- Support ECI and design-build projects with early pricing input and buildability feedback
- Work collaboratively across pre-con, QS, and project delivery to ensure seamless handovers
We’re looking for someone with solid commercial construction experience in New Zealand, comfortable working in timber-frame and steel-frame environments, and confident in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
You’ll ideally bring:
- A background in estimating or quantity surveying, with hands-on NZ measuring experience
- Understanding of local construction methods, supply chains, and labour constants
- Strong commercial acumen and accuracy under pressure
- Good communication skills and confidence engaging with subcontractors and consultants
- The motivation to mentor others and contribute to a culture built on respect, unity, and integrity
This is an opportunity to join a stable, values-driven construction company that genuinely looks after its people. They’ve created a culture of honesty, humour, and accountability, where work-life balance is encouraged, long tenure is the norm, and everyone has a voice in how the business evolves.
You’ll be joining a business that’s invested in succession, training, and long-term opportunity. For the right person, this could lead to a lead estimator or procurement manager role as the company continues to expand its footprint.
