This role suits someone who’s comfortable rolling up their sleeves and getting involved, you’ll work closely with site teams, project managers and clients, handling everything from pricing and estimating through to variations and final accounts.
What you’ll be doing
- Preparing cost plans, estimates and tender documents
- Managing subcontractor pricing and contract administration
- Tracking project costs and forecasts through to completion
- Managing variations, claims and progress payments
- Working alongside project managers to ensure quality and profitability
- Providing cost advice and maintaining clear communication with clients
- 5+ years’ experience in quantity surveying within NZ construction
- Sound knowledge of local building practices and contract forms
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with site teams
- Confident communication and negotiation skills
- Down-to-earth, social team that values good banter and teamwork
