The business delivers a range of specialist infrastructure projects across Auckland and the wider region, working with major public and private sector clients.
This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of projects from award through to completion. You'll work closely with clients, field teams, subcontractors and suppliers, with responsibility for ensuring projects are delivered safely, commercially and to programme.
This is a hands-on Project Management position where you'll remain close to both the client and what's happening on site.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing infrastructure projects from planning through to completion and handover
- Developing programmes and coordinating labour, subcontractors, materials and equipment
- Managing project budgets, costs, claims and variations
- Maintaining visibility over project margins and commercial performance
- Building strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Coordinating internal delivery and field teams
- Managing subcontractors and suppliers
- Identifying project risks and resolving delivery issues early
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality
- Providing accurate project reporting across programme and financial performance
- Supporting repeat business through strong project delivery and client relationships
You'll ideally bring:
- Proven Project Management experience within infrastructure, civil construction, utilities or a similar contracting environment
- Experience managing projects from award through to handover
- Strong commercial understanding and confidence managing project costs
- Experience coordinating field teams, subcontractors and suppliers
- Strong client and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and keep projects moving
- A practical approach to problem solving and decision making
- Good communication skills across both site and senior client stakeholders
- A strong understanding of health, safety and quality in a contracting environment
