Our client is a well established, privately owned civil contractor delivering infrastructure projects throughout Auckland. With a strong reputation across public infrastructure, earthworks, drainage, roads and park developments, they continue to secure repeat work through long-standing client relationships and a commitment to quality delivery.
Due to continued growth, they're looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the team.
This is a hands-on role where you'll typically manage one to two projects at a time, taking ownership from planning through to completion. You'll oversee programme delivery, commercial performance and client relationships while working closely with site teams and subcontractors to ensure successful outcomes.
Key responsibilities include :
- Managing the delivery of civil construction projects from award through to completion
- Developing and maintaining project programmes
- Financial management, forecasting and cost control
- Quantity Surveying responsibilities, including variations and progress claims
- Managing subcontractors and supplier performance
- Coordinating site teams to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget
- Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance
We're looking for someone who can step into the business and make an immediate impact.
Ideally you'll have :
- Proven Project Management experience within the New Zealand civil construction industry
- Strong commercial and financial management capability
- Experience administering contracts, managing variations and project reporting
- The ability to lead teams while building positive client relationships
- Excellent planning, communication and organisational skills
- A sound understanding of NZ health and safety legislation and best practice
- A practical, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work autonomously
