Our client is a long-standing commercial contractor with deep roots in the region. They’re steady, well known and have a loyal network of clients across education, defence, health and local industry. They’re looking for a Project Manager who is comfortable being part of a close-knit team and wants to build something long term in the area.
This role is hands-on in the best way. You’ll be across a few projects at once, moving between sites, staying connected to the site teams and keeping communication flowing with clients and consultants. The work is varied: school upgrades, seismic work, hospital refurbishments, industrial facilities and fit-outs. It’s the kind of environment where people know each other, relationships matter and consistency goes a long way.

- Someone who communicates well and keeps people in the loop
- Good planning habits and confidence managing programmes
- The ability to run several projects at once in a calm, organised way
- Experience in commercial construction in NZ
- Comfort working between site, office and client meetings
- A team-first mindset with low ego and steady follow-through
- Programming and sequencing a mix of commercial builds
- Coordinating consultants, RFIs and design updates
- Supporting the QS team with variations and cost checks
- Taking ownership of subcontractor performance and daily progress
- Keeping documentation tidy and consistent
- Maintaining strong relationships across the region
