About the Company
This growing specialist contractor delivers high-quality, permanent fencing solutions across Auckland’s civil subdivisions, commercial developments, and residential projects. Partnering with leading civil contractors, they’re known for technical capability, reliability, and care for their people.
It’s a close-knit, down-to-earth team where the owners are hands-on, the crews are loyal, and the culture is built on calm, collaborative problem-solving. The company plans to relocate from Silverdale to Albany/Wairau within the next 12 months to support continued growth.
About the Role
As Project Manager, you’ll oversee multiple fencing projects from handover to completion — balancing office planning and on-site coordination (around 50/50). You’ll work with dedicated labour crews, suppliers, and clients to ensure safe, high-quality delivery on time and within budget.
This is a fast-paced role that suits someone who thrives on juggling priorities, enjoys variety, and takes pride in seeing tangible results. You’ll have strong support but real autonomy and a defined pathway to Operations Manager within 12 months as the business continues to scale.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Manage end-to-end delivery of multiple live projects
- Plan, purchase, and allocate materials and crews efficiently
- Complete H&S documentation, pre-starts, and QA checks
- Track job progress, costs, and variations using spreadsheets/Tradify
- Liaise with clients, sales, and internal teams for smooth handovers
- Support and motivate crews to maintain productivity and standards
- Report on progress in weekly operational meetings
- Great salary based on experience + vehicle + phone allowance
- Clear promotion pathway to Operations Manager
- Supportive, low-ego leadership team who value initiative
- Silverdale base with flexible, family-friendly culture
- Monday–Friday, 7 am–4 pm with occasional Saturday (time in lieu)
- Genuine variety – site and office mix, civil and commercial exposure
You’re a practical operator who enjoys leading from the front. Whether you’re an experienced Project Manager or a Site Manager/Foreman ready to step up, you bring a steady hand, great people skills, and pride in doing the job right.
- Background in construction, civil, or fencing delivery
- Strong communication and stakeholder management
- Calm, organised, and solutions-focused under pressure
- Comfortable balancing site and office tasks
- Competent with cost tracking, Excel, and documentation
