Our client is a specialist Three Waters contractor focused on water main installation and infrastructure projects across Auckland. With a compact, capable team and a strong track record in the industry, they’re not trying to take over the world; they’re focused on doing what they do well, building a lasting business, and bringing in the right person to help drive that forward.
What the role looks like:
- Work alongside the founder to gradually take the reins across operations and commercial leadership
- Own the quoting and pricing process and bring in work, existing clients and word-of-mouth keep things steady, but there’s room to grow
- Get involved across the business, from health and safety to systems, QA and plant management
- Bring fresh thinking to internal systems, processes and efficiency; there’s lots of room to streamline
- Be willing to get stuck in when needed; it’s a small business, and everyone chips in
- Coach and mentor the current operations manager in commercial business leadership
- Come from a civil construction background, ideally with water infrastructure or related experience
- You have developed your leadership experience through project management, QS or engineering, and you’re now ready to take the next step into full business leadership
- Are commercially minded, operationally capable, and confident making decisions
- Are hands-on, collaborative and want to help shape a business, not just run one
- Have strong communication skills and can bring people along with you
- $150k–$170k salary + Vehicle + tools of the trade
