Our client is a commercial main contractor with a strong culture, long-standing reputation, and a team that takes pride in doing things properly. They’re now looking for someone to take charge of learning and development across the group, from office to site, cadets to senior leaders.
The role:
This is a newly created position with plenty of scope to shape the strategy, design practical training solutions, and roll out initiatives that make a real impact. A key focus will be implementing and managing a structured cadet programme that helps the business grow its own future leaders.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Developing and delivering a cadet programme that attracts, grows, and retains top talent
- Designing and rolling out company-wide training that supports performance, capability, and culture
- Managing the LMS to track and report on learning outcomes
- Working with managers to identify training gaps and build team capability
- Coordinating internal and external training delivery, including industry-specific and on-site programmes
- Has experience designing and implementing training at a business-wide level
- Understands how learning works in a practical, on-the-tools environment (construction or similar)
- Can build relationships across all levels — from new cadets to senior leadership
- Brings a proactive, practical mindset and enjoys creating things from scratch
- Has managed or implemented learning systems or cadet programmes before (ideal but not essential)
